WEB-8000 - Platform Credentials and System Passphrase Recovery

Description:

Occasionally a situation will arise where you have a functional JACE-8000 controller but no valid credentials or system passphrase. This could be due to a change in building ownership or control contractors. In Niagara 4.4 and later, the Platform Account Recovery feature provides you with a secure method of regaining access to the JACE-8000 without losing station data and configuration. 

Procedure:

  1. Power off the controller
  2. Using puTTY open a serial connection to the controller
  3. Power up the controller and monitor the boot sequence
  4. When "Press ESC to choose alternate boot options..." is displayed press the ESC button
  5. Press the 8 button to Reset Platform Credentials
  6. Confirm by pressing the y button
  7. Send the HostID, Token, and OS version displayed to Honeywell
  8. Await a response leaving the serial connection open and connected (this can take several hours)
  9. When a token has been returned, enter it into the serial shell
  10. Press the V button to verify
  11. The credentials will reset and the controller will restart.
  12. You will be prompted to change the default credentials upon connecting to the platform.
