Description:
Occasionally a situation will arise where you have a functional JACE-8000 controller but no valid credentials or system passphrase. This could be due to a change in building ownership or control contractors. In Niagara 4.4 and later, the Platform Account Recovery feature provides you with a secure method of regaining access to the JACE-8000 without losing station data and configuration.
Procedure:
- Power off the controller
- Using puTTY open a serial connection to the controller
- Power up the controller and monitor the boot sequence
- When "Press ESC to choose alternate boot options..." is displayed press the ESC button
- Press the 8 button to Reset Platform Credentials
- Confirm by pressing the y button
- Send the HostID, Token, and OS version displayed to Honeywell
- Await a response leaving the serial connection open and connected (this can take several hours)
- When a token has been returned, enter it into the serial shell
- Press the V button to verify
- The credentials will reset and the controller will restart.
- You will be prompted to change the default credentials upon connecting to the platform.
